We are always seeking responsible individuals to work in a variety of roles at Camp Golden Tree. All non-administrative staff work as counselors for a small group of children and have another primary role such as social-skills teacher, activity director, life-guard, or other position as experience and skills allow.
All staff must be authorized to work in the United States, be able to complete all application requirements (interview, three letters of recommendation, signed health and code of conduct form, and criminal background check), attend training 2 to 3 days before campers arrive, and exhibit characteristics of responsibility, patience, dependability, maturity, integrity, and enthusiasm.

Camp Director
Purpose of the Position: Perform administrative tasks associated with Camp Golden Tree, interface with parents, train counselors, and oversee staff job responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in camp administration
- Experience working with a group of staff and interacting with parents
Job Responsibilities:
- Assume responsibility of safety of campers and report all incidents to executive director
- Enjoy working with children aged 9 to 13 and camp staff
- Maintain open communication with camp staff, providing guidance when necessary
- Lead scheduled meetings and training sessions
- Work to ensure all campers are comfortable, safe, and included in all activities
- Be punctual, organized, and enthusiastic
- Problem solve through situations and seek assistance when necessary
- Help organize on and off-site activities
- Be available 24/7 for any emergencies
- Assist in the writing and collating of daily reports of each camper's activities to be sent home with parents
Lead Camp Counselor
Purpose of the Position: To serve as the primary adult responsible for the youth in your group, help train and guide general counselors, conduct short lessons to campers, and assist senior staff in implementing the program.
Responsible to: Camp Director
Qualifications:
- Degree in psychology, social work, education, or related field
- Experience working with students with special needs
Job Responsibilities:
- Assume responsibility of safety of campers and report all incidents to senior staff
- Present age-appropriate lessons which may interest campers or which are tied to on and off-site activities. Lessons in socialization, emotional response, and/or executive functioning are preferred
- Enjoy working with children aged 9 to 13
- Work to ensure all campers are comfortable, safe, and included in all activities
- Serve as a positive role model for youth, modeling appropriate social and emotional skills
- Have a genuine interest in the well-being of the campers
- Be punctual, organized, and enthusiastic
- Problem solve through situations and seek assistance when necessary
- Attend scheduled meetings and staff-training
- Help organize on and off-site activities
- Be available 24/7 for any emergencies
- Maintain open communication with camp staff
- Ability to accept guidance and supervision from senior staff
- Maintain the cleanliness of all areas of camp utilized by camp staff and children
- Assist in the writing of daily reports of each camper's activities to be sent home with parents
Counselor
Purpose of the Position: To serve as the primary adult responsible for the children in your group, conduct short lessons for campers or perform other functions for which your experience and skills allow, and assist senior staff in implementing the overall camp program.
Qualifications:
- Completion of at least one year of college or be at least 24 years of age
- Prior experience working with children
Job Responsibilities:
- Assume responsibility of safety of campers and report all incidents to senior staff
- Know where your campers are at all times
- Present age-appropriate lessons which may interest campers or which are tied to activities. Age-appropriate lessons in socialization, emotional response, executive functioning, mathematics, engineering, science, logic, or strategy games are preferred. Generally one or two 45 minute to 1 hours sessions is sufficient
- Enjoy working with children aged 9 to 13
- Ensure all campers are comfortable, safe, and included in all activities
- Assist other staff members in camp activities
- Serve as a positive role model for youth, modeling appropriate social and emotional skills
- Have a genuine interest in the well-being of the campers
- Be punctual, organized, and enthusiastic
